In the context of globalization in education, foreign teachers, with their rich multicultural background, outstanding language skills, and innovative teaching concepts, have become a key driving force in improving the quality of international education in China. When recruiting foreign teachers, international schools consider various factors. What are the real demands of foreign teachers in their workplace? Facing the significant recruitment costs of foreign executives, what negotiations take place between both parties? From May 24th to 26th, TIDE2024 The 6th International Development of Educators, organized by TopSchools, invites you to gather in Shanghai. The conference will host the inaugural "Foreign Teacher Forum" from 13:00 to 17:30 on May 25th, tailored specifically for foreign teachers in the industry. 自1993年至今,国际学校行业已迈过30年发展历程。多年来,外籍人才不断涌入中国国际教育行业,特别是专业能力强,管理经验丰富的外方高管更是市场上的稀缺人才。
Since 1993, the international school industry has experienced over 30 years of development. Over the years, foreign talent has continuously flowed into the Chinese international education industry, especially highly qualified professionals and experienced foreign executives, who are scarce talents in the market.
根据顶思发布的2023年《中国国际学校薪酬报告》,在总校长、副校长、学术校长、学部校长四个维度,外籍校长的薪酬都高于中方校长,特别是总校长一职差异最大,中方校长月薪中位数为50000元,外方则达91500元,外籍高管招聘成本高,国际学校态度谨慎。
According to the "2023 China International School Compensation & Benefit Report" released by TopSchools, foreign principals receive higher compensation than their Chinese counterparts across four dimensions: headmaster, deputy headmaster, academic director, and department head. The disparity is most pronounced in the position of headmaster, where the median monthly salary for Chinese principals is 50,000 yuan, while for foreign principals, it reaches 91,500 yuan. Due to the high recruitment costs of foreign executives, international schools approach the matter with caution.
不仅如此,国际学校行业对教师人才质量的要求进一步提升,但人才结构性矛盾延续,工作难找、人才难招,人才供需凸现失衡。学校聘用资金有限,外教合法认证难,优质外教少,招聘标准高是行业现实问题,优质外籍教师依旧是市场稀缺品。
Furthermore, the international school industry has raised its requirements for the quality of teaching staff. However, structural contradictions in talent persist, with difficulties in finding jobs and recruiting talent, leading to an imbalance in supply and demand. Schools have limited funds for hiring, and it’s challenging to obtain legitimate certification for foreign teachers. Quality foreign teachers are scarce, and high recruitment standards are a practical issue in the industry. Thus, high-quality foreign teachers remain a rare commodity in the market.
